Boar’s vs Pittsworth
The 18’s got out to a flyer with a barnstorming try to Kaleb Anderson and two long range tries to hard working front rower Will Robinson and Brenton Clement. The boars looked like they were going to run away with the game but Pittsworth fought back and managed to pile on the points and take a two point lead at half time.
The second half was a battle as the lead changed all the way to the final siren. Brenton clement crossed for his second try, but the Danes hit back straight away. With the game coming to a close. Jed Kindt who was punishing in defence all game barged over to draw the scores level. The game looked like it was going to be a certain draw as Pittsworth was deep in their own half. A lapse in defence let the Danes through a hole and they went the length of the field after the siren to score the sealer.

Reserve grade
In an evenly contested game, the Reggie’s got up with a two point win in another tight one.
A slow start by the boars saw Pittsworth score in the opening minute of play. Both teams then became stuck in the middle of the field for 20 minutes, as no team could crack the others defence. Until Adam Tribe broke the line and put Brad Frost over in the corner. Not to be outdone the Danes hit back in the dying minuets to take the lead again at half time.
The boars started strongly in the second half this time and Brad Frost carried defenders over the line to score his second try. Will Davis did a mountain of defence and was rewarded with a try after he dived on a grubber kick in goal to give Goondiwindi a two point lead.
Once Pittsworth got the momentum they put the boars on the back foot and scored out wide again. With time ticking away and the boars behind on the score board, Matt Galvin dived over from dummy half to put the boars in front again. The boars held on for the final five minutes of the game to take the win.

A Grade
After a promising start to the season and pushing two of the top teams all the way, the boars seem off the pace in the first home game of the season. With some field position early, the Danes put on a backline move to score in the corner.
The boars finally got some field position in attacking territory and Tyrell McCullagh reached out from dummy half to even the scores. Unfortunately tyrell was injured moments later and took no further part in the game.
The Danes then took control of the game, beating the boars up the middle and out wide and opening up a 20 point lead into half time.
The second half continued on from the first half with Pittsworth dominating the play. The boars fought back with some hard meters by centre Matt Gardner and Brandon McGrady created some magic to beat multiple defenders and score to keep the Goondiwindi in the game.
But the boars had no answer for the Danes as they put on a few more tries at the end to take the win.
Goondiwindi will travel to Toowoomba on Sunday to take on souths.
