Boars vs warwick wrap up

A Grade
Goondiwindi travelled to Warwick on Friday night to take on the cowboys in a very physical encounter. After having two weeks off since their last game it took a few sets till the boars got going and Warwick were able to capitalize on an overlap to open up the scoring.
With the game now settled, both forward packs ripped in to each other with front row partners Ronnie David and Andrew Hoggarth making their presences know with some crunching tackles. Tom Halford found some space up the middle and beat several defenders to level the scores.
Warwick countered not long after and scored out wide again. Tyrell McCullagh caught the markers out on the halfway line and made a break, fending off tacklers to even the scores again.
With half time coming to a close, Warwick had the boars defending their line. Stewart Lowe cleaned up a last play kick on the try line and almost went the length of the field and was only tackled short of the try line right on halftime. The half time score was 12 all.
The second half continued on like the first half with some excellent defence in the middle, with neither side giving an inch. Then from nowhere Warwick scored two tries in span of a couple minuets from deep in their own half to break the game open. The boars continued to battle, but were unable to close the score line.
The boars have shown so far this year that they are very competitive and will only get better once they string a few more games together.
The boars take on Pittsworth this Saturday for the first home game of the season. Kick off at 3:30pm
Reserve Grade
The first half was cut short after a few minutes when Will Carrol was knocked out in a tackle. Which was unlucky for Will because after a good pre-season and trial game, has seen him pushing for an A grade spot.
Both teams started strongly in an evenly contested, close game that went down to the last minute.
Warwick were the first to score off a Goondiwindi mistake, but the boars hit back soon after through Hayden Bussell who scored a double to take the lead.
Warwick with a bit of possession scored out wide, Adam tribe took control of the game and swung the momentum back to Goondiwindi. Close to the line Matt Galvin drew in defenders to put Brad Frost though untouched under the posts, to once again take the lead.
With only a minute to go, the boars made an error on their own try line and Warwick scored under the post to steal a two point win.

Under 18’s
After the game was changed, the young boars seem to freeze under the Friday night lights. Producing hopefully their worst half of football all year. Warwick dominated the boars from the start amassing a 30 to nil lead at half time.
After a few stern words from coach Galvin at halftime, the boars came out with a purpose. It was like a completely different team came out from the sheds. Tom Davis opened up with a hat trick and Kaleb Anderson crossed for a try to score 22 unanswered points and close within 8 points of Warwick. But the boar’s first half cost them and run out of time to snatch an unlikely win.
